| The second coming of Dagon
“In late December visitors and care takers of the largest Catholic shrine in south Texas noticed some thing odd. In this location foggy days are rare but in 2008 there were many and from this mist according to many witness walked out a lamb and a lion.”
If I read the above from any credible news source or if I saw the lamb and the lion with my own eyes I would conclude something glorious was on the way. Christian theology weighs heavily on these two animals and there is no doubt as to the waves of believers and miracle seekers that would flock to the location… And they would need hotels, restaurants, souvenirs and other high profit margin items that we are not going to think about right now.
Where is Kiryat Yam and why are the recent mermaid sightings in that area significant?
The location encompassing modern-day Israel and Lebanon, the Palestinian Territories, plus adjoining coastal lands and parts of Jordan, Syria and northeastern Egypt was known as Cannan. Many of the ancient gods are associated with this general location such as El, Baal and Dagon. Some of the newer more fashionable deities from Greek mythology such as Poseidon also show up in this area and play major roles. Let us not get side tracked by the influence older gods have with the new God, that is a long story in and of it self. Suffice it to say Perseus born of an immaculate conception ended up saving Andromeda, who was chained to a rock as a sacrifice to a sea monster on the coast of Jaffa, Israel…right next door to Kiryat Yam. There’s even a landmark there today called Andromeda Rock, and it is supposedly the rock to which beautiful Andromeda was chained.
Mermaids and mermen sightings are historically bad omens regardless of what Disney wants to sell you. British folklore paints dreaded images of the mermaids and older cultures imbue them with mystical/magical attributes. Good or bad mermaid sightings signify change. Change or turmoil in Israel in these times we live in SEEM to mean somethings in store for humans…one more time
These creatures are seen throughout human history and myth. The fish god may be a great old myth, ancient pagan theology or sinister warnings of a future calamity. |
