Coins with no God

biglielogo The Lie:  An email has been circling the net since last year concerning the Presidential Gold coins issued in 2008.
dollarcoindollarcoin2 Emails like the following:

NEW DOLLAR COIN
“This new coin came out this month
The U.S. Mint hopes the redesigned $1 coin will win acceptance with consumers.
It does not have In God We Trust on it. Another way of leaving God out.
Send this on and let consumers decide if it will win acceptance or not.”

Most people passed this little bit of misinformation on and has been included in  some conspiracy web pages who didn’t do their homework.  This kind of misinformation has the effect of discrediting the sender and will cast doubt on other “signs of the times”.  Go to the source when in doubt.  The US Mint web page had images showing where and stating why “In God We Trust” was moved to the edge.

harrison ***Update***

With the passage of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2008, Congress reversed
its previous specifications and instructed the U.S. Mint to mo
ve the “In God We Trust”
motto from the edge to the front or back of the presidential $1 coins “as soon as is
practicable.” Beginning with the first Presidential $1 coin issued in 2009
(which bore the likeness of the ninth U.S. President, William Henry Harrison), the motto
was repositioned to the bottom left-hand portion of the obverse.  This lie lives on in the memory of everyone who did not dig a little deeper into the story creating a false impression of the state of religion in our country.

Stop the Lie.

I agree, Religion has been confusing many ppl since its inception. But in this country you can choose whatever religion you want and it is a basic building block of America. BUT! Because the ppl bringing us the message is corrupt does not mean the original message was not divine. So since religion is a personal choice of moral and ethical standards, it matters to abortion, marriage and yes some might say to health care too.

The less we start talking bout Religion, and start talking about real human issues the better. did we forget all the bullshit Bush brought on this country regarding Religion, and all the time we wasted talking about it along with all its other little subjects, when in reality Religion has been bringing this world down for thousands of years. remember all the wasted time we spent on Gay marriage, abortion, and at the same time we had priests molesting boys, and other Religious idiots coming out as Gay?? Quit wasting my time, and worry about real issues. give my Grandparents some real health care, stop the wars, deal with Global Warming, fix the economy, get Religion out of the picture!! C’Mon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
