What is your definition of a ghost?

Well our definition of a ghost, which we don’t really use that term but each group has their own lingo, is a manifestation of collected energy and memories of what once was. Pretty much another state of consciousness which has yet to be explained.

What is your definition of a haunting?

A true haunting in our opinion would have to be a location with overwhelming paranormal activity that cannot be explained by natural means. Now there are other types of a haunting which are divided into two groups which are residual haunting and intellectual haunting. A residual haunting is when the spirit haunts a location or area but does not interact with the living kind of like a recorded image imprinted for some reason or another that just plays over and over. A intellectual haunting is when the spirit or entity can and does interact with the living.

Of all of your investigations concerning ghosts and haunting, which cases stand out in y

our mind, which did you find to be the most interesting?
Liza (Co-Founder)- Well, we had fun on most but I really liked the cemetery investigations where we caught many evps, lights, and had personal experiences.
Jennifer(investigator)-Hmm out of everything we investigated I personally like the Brownsville City Cemetery cause of the evps that we got concerning a little girl that has been rumored to haunt that location.
Dave (investigator)- I liked the experience I had during a residential location where I had the feeling of someone or something running at me from behind. It’s the only one that made me jump out of my seat lol I had to go home and change my pants!

tools-of-the-trade
Bobby(co-founder)-Id have to say when we investigated the Stillman House in Brownsville and I was in the caretakers quarters and I heard the front door open and close but nobody ever came in and I also heard footsteps coming down the hallway as I was staring down it and saw nobody there it was quite an experience.

Do you use or will you use mediums?
We have never used any mediums for the simple fact that we don’t know any at the moment but are open to the idea, but we would not base any evidence on a mediums feelings unless it appeared on a photo or on our cameras.

Why are they (ghost)here?
Well once again everyone has own their theories but we think simply they are just people that are lost and confused in that other realm. Some know they are dead but choose to stay for their own personal reasons and some don’t know their dead and need some help to pass on.But we will never truly know until we ourselves are put in that position.

How did you become involved in ghost hunting?bobbie
My wife and I had many personal experiences when we were young. We grew up in a Latino community where urban legends and stories were always told.It wasn’t until later when we educated ourselves about how a person could indeed catch evidence of the paranormal using normal everyday equipment. So we bought the stuff and the rest is history.

How long (years/months) have you been doing this?
Ive been into the paranormal since I was a kid my grandfather use to gather us up at night to tell us scary stories about la llorona and such.My wife and I started the group back at the end of 06 and have been doing it since then.

Can you give me a brief description on what you do in these hunts?
Well first we’ll interview the clients get the details of the case and location, then do a brief walk around the location gathering data from our emf and temperature devices and finally go dark, sit and document whatever may or may not happen.Ghost hunting is not the most entertaining field lol but for those who are patient and open minded its kind of a suspenseful thrill.

Whadavidt equipment, do you personally, like to use?liza
Liza(co-founder)-I love the digital recorders. That’s a piece of equipment that never fails lol.
Jennifer(investigator)-I have to go with Liza’s answer as well cause we always seem to find at least one evp even on a slow dead night.
David(investigator)-I like the digital recorders and digital emf meter.
Bobby(co-founder)-I’m always trying everything out but Ive found the Gauss meter to work really well when trying to communicate with an entity.

What is absolutely necessary, equipment-wise, to take along on a hunt?
Well like we answered before a digital recorder is your best bet and of course a camcorder just in case you come across something that manifests itself you wanna get that on film, but honestly the best thing to bring with you on any investigation is an open mind.If something goes down don’t be afraid to question it cause 90% of the time its something natural and you have to explore all your options before coming to any supernatural conclusion.

On behalf of the SOS team, I would like to thank yla-lomitaou for answering our questions and for giving us some insight into the field of  Paranormal Investigations.  Feel free to drop us a line whenever you please!  Good Hunting!
